Tower of Jewels (Echium wildpretii) is a stunning biennial plant from the Boraginaceae family, native to the Canary Islands. This cool-season grower can reach heights up to 10 feet (3m) in its second year, producing spectacular salmon-red blooms that spiral up from a blue-gray rosette of foliage.Growing Requirements:- USDA Hardiness Zones: 9-10- Light: Full sun- Soil: Well-draining, sandy and gritty soil (cactus soil mix is ideal)- Water: Moderate watering, drought tolerant- Temperature: Can tolerate down to 20F (-6C) but requires protection at low temperatures- Maturity: Biennial flowering cycleGrowing Instructions:Seeds can be started indoors several weeks before spring.
